Well over 30 years ago I picked up my first home made weight and was hooked on bodybuilding from that day on. It has been the one constant in my life long before I met my wife Lisa and we had our four amazing children Luke 20, Rhys 19, Cynthia 17 and Eric 13. This passion for health and fitness ultimately lead to my current occupation as a Personal Trainer at Fitness 405 in Northcote. I deal with people daily who are in some way trying to improve their health, fitness or body composition. I know and appreciate the high level of work, commitment and sacrifice it takes to achieve small goals let alone compete and achieve the absolute top condition of your life for a bodybuilding show!

I also know first hand what it takes to compete having done so in 1996 winning my division at my first show at the Melbourne competition. I followed up with a runner up in my division at the Victorian Titles and then qualifying for the Olympia placing top 5 in my division at the Australian Titles.

I take the privilege and honour of being a judge very seriously. It is a role of enormous pressure and immense satisfaction. The competitors have done an enviable amount of work and are all winners from the second they step on stage and it is up to me and my fellow judges to decide who is the best of the best!? Like all judges I carefully consider and assess each competitor in order to ensure the right people are rewarded. It is not easy and we take time and care to ensure we get it right!

Prior to my PT career I spent 20 years working for a large multi national company working in various Quality Assurance and Quality Control roles including National Quality Manager. Seems fitting I have continued that role in judging the quality of our amazing INBA competitors. I take great pride in being part of the INBA family and have felt welcome and an appreciated part of this outstanding Organisation from day one.

I’m an extremely friendly and approachable person and more than happy to have a chat and discuss any aspect of the judging process. So please feel free to come and say hi!

You get one life, make it count.
